Seasonal Part-time Sales Assistants

Orka Gems is looking for professional, talented, organized, highly motivated and above-average performers to be a part of our team from early June to end of August! Unlike other large retail corporations, Orka Gems is a proud, female locally owned and growing business that has been successful for over 7 years. 

Applicants should be comfortable running in-person events, travelling to and from different craft shows, and setting up/taking down our booth at pop-up events by their selves. Applicants should be flexible to work day, evening and some weekend shifts. The ideal applicant will have a positive, enthusiastic attitude for retail sales, and a passion to learn about semi-fine jewelry. We are looking for applicants from the Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, Comox Valley, Vancouver, and Toronto! Previous retail experience is an asset, but not required as we will provide training to the right individual. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for a role they can make their own and have potential to grow into a longer term role.

  • Lives anywhere in the Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, Comox Valley, Vancouver, and Toronto

  • Is passionate about customer service with good communication and patience

  • Flexible to changing hours and seasons (potential blackout dates for time off as well as must be open to weekend work

  • Wants to be apart of a close & supportive team that builds each other up 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality service towards all customers, and will create memorable customer service interactions.

  • Setting up and taking down our set up at pop-ups

  • Travelling to and from different pop-ups on Vancouver Island

  • Opportunity to help create content for our social media platforms

  • Ensure in-person events are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times.

  • Assist with packing orders, restocking inventory and other miscellaneous duties. 

  • Help execute all Orka Gems in-person events and assist with pre-event prep, during event and post-event duties.
